The Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation is among the first organisations to receive a telemetric band from Pannon. For years now, the mobile communications company has been working on projects that look at how telecommunications tools can help tackle unsolved problems. These include the new wireless data transmission device that enables the monitoring of vital functions of sportsmen and women even during training.
Anders Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of Pannon
“Pannon is continuously looking for new possibilities to widen the mobile technologies’ fields of application. This telemetric device is a very useful way of making the most of the mobile network, and goes well beyond traditional data transmission technologies. This project, of course, is of particular importance to us.”
“Pannon has been actively involved in the world of sport for a long time, and we have a very special relationship with the Hungarian national ice hockey team. The team has been presenting us with a number of challenges, and now we have an ideal opportunity to contribute to monitoring the state of health of sportspeople.”
“We wanted to carry out a joint project with the company that manufactures the telemetric bands. Within this mutually beneficial cooperation, Pannon has been in charge of mobile technology and data transfer.”
“This device can be used for a wide variety of sports activities, not only for humans but also, for example, for race horses. It can also be extended to other fields of modern technology and to any field of physical activity.”
“Widening the mobile technologies’ fields of application is one of our key objectives. We want to lay the groundwork for a business model that continues to build on these technologies, and that can demonstrate their various application potentials.”
“At the event, we will introduce the technology and the device itself, and we will present the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation with a telemetric band.”
The Pannon team believes this development to be a unique opportunity to identify and prevent heart diseases in the case of sportspersons, the importance of which has, sadly, been underlined by recent tragedies.
Gyöngyi Szilágyi Kocsisné, Chief Development Officer of I-QRS International Kft.
“Our development is designed to transmit the heart’s electric signals, the person’s skin temperature, the ambient temperature, and how the person moves and turns. On the basis of the mathematical analysis of these data, we try to provide a precise diagnosis as to the physical capacities of the sportsperson at any given moment. The device also enables us to monitor the person’s vital signs, on the basis of which we can assist trainers by telling them if they should increase or decrease the intensity of the training.”
“None of this could be done without wireless data transmission technology, as local transmission is not suited to transmitting signals to the appropriate data processing device.”
At the press conference, Pannon introduced the device and its operation, with Roger Holéczy being the first member of the Hungarian National Ice Hockey Team to try it.
Ferenc Studniczky, Chairman of the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation
“We believe that introducing this new device is a very important step, as it enables us to continuously monitor and record key vital signs during training and matches. Physicians and trainers alike can measure and follow these data at all times, and can adjust workloads accordingly. And of course, the device is equally important with regards to physiological effects, both for sportspersons and ordinary people.”
“Thanks to cutting-edge technology, this device can continuously measure vital signs practically everywhere – during sports activities on the ice, or in other sports, in the pool, on the pitch or on the court. Thanks to Pannon, data can be recorded and displayed on a computer, which enables trainers to adjust their training on the basis of medical factors.”
“I believe that we at the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation have a unique relationship with Pannon, and I hope that we can maintain the level of success we have shared so far and that our national teams will continue to produce excellent results.”
As the main sponsor of the Hungarian ice hockey team, Pannon wishes to demonstrate its continued commitment to player health. In acknowledgement of the exemplary cooperation, the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation presented Pannon CEO, Anders Jensen, with a jersey bearing his name.
